Wheels and Waves is an annual summer festival taking place in scenic Biarritz at la Cité de l’Océan and other spots scattered on the Basque coast. As the name suggests, it's a motorcycle and surf festival. The event features five days of extreme motorcycling, great surfing, skating, live music concerts, and wild partying. The combination of moto and surf sports seems quite natural for the southwestern coast of France.

Motorcycle fans love to ride through Pyrenees mountains and the beautiful Basque country. The road to San Sebastian, Tourmalet & Aubisque passes, Mount Ventoux, the Cirque de Navacelles, exciting balcony roads—this area is perfect for bikers. Biarritz is also the surfing capital of France with great swells and wide beaches attracting celebrities from all over the world.

Wheels and Waves fest was born in Biarritz in 2011 as a festival like no other. It features a surfing contest, several motorcycle races, scenic group rides from the coast to the mountains, and skate contests. The festival village hosts over 120 stalls with various motorcycle and surfing related goods. There are live music concerts and movie screenings every night at the Cité de l’Océan in Biarritz. Wheels and Waves is a perfect occasion for a vacation to enjoy both nature and favorite hobbies.

Regarding accommodation, the organisers usually partner with local hotels in Biarritz, Anglet and Bayonne and Biarritz Tourism agency to ensure best rates and good guest experience. Tickets may be purchased online. A five-day pass gives access to all the major races, concerts, and screenings.
