These playful creatures swim near the boats of tourists, demonstrating a real circus show in the water
Best time: mid–November–March
Peninsula Valdes is a paradise for marine animals. This is a great place to see huge whales, penguins, and dolphins. The black and white Commerson’s dolphin may be spotted year-round with the best chances provided during calving season in mid-November. The best place to watch them is the Playa Union near to the Rawson’s Port.
From December to March, you can see the migration of rare dusky dolphins known for being the most acrobatic species of dolphin. These amusingly nimble mammals swim in flocks along the coast of Golfo Nuevo and Golfo San Jose, making quaint pirouettes and somersaults near boats.
