Kazbegi Ascent in Georgia 2025
Climbing one of Georgia's highest peaks is a daring adventure
Best time: July–September
Trekking and climbing in the area of Mount Kazbek, 5033 meters high, is hugely popular among amateur and professional climbers. A dormant stratovolcano and one of the major mountains of the Caucasus is located in the Kazbegi District of Georgia and North Ossetia (Russia).
The best time for ascending is the summer since in the winter weather conditions are too harsh. Climbers would need standard glacier gear - crampons, ice ax, and rope. The climbing route is considered to be not too complicated even for beginners. As a bonus, you will get a fantastic view of the mountains and a sense of accomplishment after conquering 5047 meters.
