The first recorded strand race occurred in 1868 and the competition has been acknowledged as unique and breathtaking ever since. It is the only beach race that is under Turf Club imposed restrictions and thus is a safe place for the partakers.
It is a wonderful and exciting experience to watch and fairly easy to get to, so pack your things now and come!
