Vancouver Sun Run Featured in
The largest road race in Canada and even the second largest timed 10k run in the world hosts around 50,000 runners every year. The Sun Run usually takes place on the third Sunday of April. This event occupies the whole city. There is even a special wave start system due to the amount of participants. Many runners arrive from other countries to take part in the run, either to set a record or just run for fun.
The Sun Run starts at Georgia Street and takes the runners through the whole city, crossing two bridges with the finish line in front of the BC Place Stadium. The first Vancouver Sun run was held in 1985. The Vancouver Sun newspaper is the main sponsor of this event and it also coordinates four months of training before the run.
