Discover the secret of cheese making from the real masters in Bregenzerwald

The Cheese Trail is a unique experience orchestrated by 160 partners cooperating for the sake of guests in Bregenzerwald region in the state of Vorarlberg. Farmers, alpine dairymen, cheesemakers, restaurants, inns, museums, and tourist organisations all belong to the Cheese Trail network. On the trail, you'll visit modern cheese vendors with thousands of cheese blocks. In the Käsehaus in Andelsbuch you can buy and try the entire range of delicacies or try to make your own cheese at the Alpine school in Egg. All the products meet the strict ecological regulations and quality criteria. Stations along the trail are easy to find thanks to the special signposts. The best season to visit this special street is, of course, summer, because of the warm, pleasant weather. During this time a horse drawn railway is in operation and there are a lot of open-air museums. The KäseHerbst season is from mid-September to the end of October. This is a very popular time for traditional festivals.
