The Driffield Steam Fair is an annual two-day event held at Driffield Showground every August. Activities and Exhibits
Attendees can expect to see a wide range of steam engines, including traction engines, steam rollers, road locomotives, and showman’s engines. The event also features a collection of vintage and classic vehicles such as cars, tractors, military and construction vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles. One of the highlights of the fair is the arena displays, where almost every vehicle parades around, providing a closer look at these mechanical marvels. Additionally, visitors can enjoy an old-time funfair with traditional amusement rides, including galloping horses and other classic rides, all set to the backdrop of traditional fairground music. The trade area of the fairground boasts market stalls, an indoor craft hall, and a variety of food vendors. Ticket Prices and Parking
Tickets for the Driffield Steam Fair are available at the gate. Adult tickets are priced at £13.70, while tickets for individuals under 16 are £9.38. Concession tickets for attendees over 65 are available for £11.55. For families, a ticket covering two adults and two under-16s is priced at £33.22. Public opening times are from 10 am to 5 pm on both days, with the public car park closing at 5:15 pm.
Camping
Public camping is also an option, with limited spaces available. The camping fee includes a pitch for one vehicle and tent/caravan/motorhome, along with full event access for up to two adults and two under-16s. The site offers toilets, showers, and water points, although there are no electric hook-ups available.
