Syracuse Winterfest 2025 in New York State

Every February, Syracuse Winterfest transforms the Syracuse Inner Harbor into a hub of winter-themed festivities for 11 days of fun. The event features a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, attracting visitors with its vibrant atmosphere. Highlights include chili and chowder cook-offs, ice sculpture displays, ice skating, races, fun runs, and games. Fireworks and live entertainment create a festive ambiance, making it an unforgettable winter celebration.

Schedule of Events

Fireworks & Ice Skating

Syracuse Winterfest offers a packed schedule of activities and events for all ages. The festival begins with fireworks at the Inner Harbor on February 14 at 8:30 pm. Free ice skating sessions are available on February 13 and 20 at Clinton Square from 6 to 8 pm, with skate rentals offered by the festival.

Food & Drinks

Food and drink are a major highlight, including the Bloody Mary Mix-Off and Chowder Cook-Off on February 23 from noon to 4 pm, as well as a Beer Tasting event at Shaughnessy’s Irish Pub on February 16 at 5 pm. The Wing Walk on February 23 runs from noon to 5 pm, with $15 tickets granting access to tastings at various venues.

Family Events

Families can enjoy the Human Dogsled Races and activities at the Inner Harbor on February 15, while kids will love Checkers the Inventor’s free program on February 23, featuring games, comedy, and face painting. Music lovers can attend Hammond Jammin’ XVIII on February 23 from noon to 5 pm. Syracuse Winterfest is a perfect winter escape with entertainment, food, and community fun.

History of Syracuse Winter Festival

Syracuse Winterfest started in 1985. Since then, it has grown into a favorite tradition in Onondaga County, Central New York, annually gathering 100,000 visitors, both kids and young-at-hearts.
