Capital Holiday Lights in the Park is the annual holiday lights display in Albany's Washington Park. The popular drive-through has been the favorite holiday tradition for local families since 1997. The spectacular show attracts tens of thousands of visitors every season, featuring over 125 light displays and scenes. Proceeds from the show benefit local charities.
Some of the Capital Holiday Lights' highlights include Santa and his elves displays as well as America's first responders: police, firefighters, and other critical workers. The park can be explored by car or on foot. Carriage rides through the Lights are also available on certain days. At the end of the journey, at The Lakehouse, kids can enjoy activities such as holiday crafts, face painting, and balloon sculptures.
The show usually runs from Thanksgiving till early January, from 5 to 9 pm on Sundays, from 5;30 to 9 pm Monday through Wednesday, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 10 pm on Fridays, and from 5:30 to 10:30 pm on Saturdays. General admission is $25 per vehicle.
