Celebration in the Oaks

Every holiday season, which starts after Thanksgiving, over 165,000 people visit Celebration in the Oaks in City Park—one of the best holiday light festivals in the U.S. Imagine the beauty of thousands of lights showing different holiday themes! This nostalgic winter celebration will touch your heart. There is plenty of entertainment for the whole family.

A month-long light show in New Orleans City Park that started in the late 1980s features hundreds of thousands of colorful lights. The favorite light displays include animated “Cajun Night Before Christmas,” “Who Dat Tree,” as well as Snowman Mr. Bingle. Children love the miniature train that circles the park under the bright light displays. The Carousel amusement ride area is the most popular part of the park. The main highlight of Carousel Gardens is a 100-year-old historic Carousel with amazing hand-carved flying horses.

Celebration in the Oaks runs from late November thru early January and is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
