Hamburg Fairgrounds Festival of Lights runs on selected dates from late November through December. Stunning lights enhance the beauty of a Buffalo-area winter, attracting thousands of people for two kinds of experience. You can opt for the full option, including drive-thru and walk-around on 42nd Street, or choose a drive-thru only. Considered one of the largest light festivals in Western New York, the Hamburg Fairgrounds Festival of Lights delights everyone with a vibrant myriad of light installations and festive illuminations.

Christmas Light Displays

Walk or drive through the magical illuminated tunnels, transporting you right into the Christmas fairy tale. The grounds feature numerous light installations, carefully crafted with hundreds of lights to resemble various holiday-themed shapes. Visitors can witness stunning Christmas trees, Santa's sleigh, reindeer, stockings, and other festive exhibits. All of the displays make for a great background for a photo.

Other Attractions & Entertainment at the Light Show

Beyond Christmas lights, the Hamburg Fairgrounds Festival would be merely incomplete without a visit to Santa in the North Pole. Kids adore Kandy Kane's Holiday Magic Show, interactive games and rides, and Kids Craft Area. While at the festival, you can also browse the stocking stuffers at the vendor stalls and grab a beverage from the local food sellers. Children might enjoy the Christmas Express Train Ride, making crafts with their hands at the festival workshops. Little ones can also write a letter to their favorite winter grandad, Santa, and visit a spectacular dance party. The event is filled to the brim with entertainment for all ages.

Schedule & Hours

The festival usually welcomes new visitors from 5 pm through 9 pm, with some buildings staying aglow till 10 pm. Both walk-through and drive-through options are available on November 29th-30th, December 1st, December 6th-8th, and December 13th-23rd. Just the drive-through experience is available on December 5th, December 12th, December 26th-30th.

Tickets

Full-experience tickets, which cost $33.90 per car, let you experience the show both in a walk-through and drive-through format. Drive-through-only tickets cost $22.60. On December 1st, there's a discount and tickets go for $20.

Location

Hamburg is a town within Erie County, New York, about a 45-minute drive to Niagara Falls. The light festival is located on the large and renovated Fairgrounds and around the buildings along 42nd Street. The drive-through entrance to the event is off of McKinley Pkwy. If you'd like to experience the event by walking, you need to enter the south of the Event Center at the South Park entrance.
