On a hot and humid summer night, there's nothing better than an ice-cold drink. If you're in Rio, you should definitely make it a caipirinha. Made with cachaça, Brazil's most popular alcohol, it's quite strong but very refreshing.
Cachaça is a sugarcane liquor, but unlike rum, it's made out of fresh sugarcane juice and not by-products. Caipirinha is a mix of cachaça, lime juice, some sugar, and lots of ice. You can enjoy it on your own or share it with your friends by making a whole jar.
