With the average day temperature of around 10°C (50°F), January is the most chilly month on the calendar. At night, the temperature might drop to 0°C (32°F), but it increases after sunrise. Mornings are not the most favorable in terms of the weather. Not only because of the night freshness but also because of the thick fog. At least half of the day, you may expect to see a clear sky and enjoy the sun, warming up the air. In March, the weather is a bit unstable. The difference in temperatures throughout the day is noticeable. March proves to be the wettest month of the year: you may expect up to 9 rainy days, with some 90 mm (3.5 in) of precipitation. Also, the days are quite windy. Hence, an umbrella and a jacket should still lie in your bag.

April marks the transition from mild yet wet March to summer-like May. It gets much drier, and the abundance of precipitation is half as much as in March. However, it’s not the time to hide an umbrella as several gentle and quick rain episodes might catch you in Seville. The temperature increases and, on average, reaches 20-23°C (68-73°F) during the day. The mornings are considerably fresher, though. By noon, the sun warms up the air, and you won’t need a jacket you put on in the morning. The comfy warmth and the moderate number of rainy days make April an excellent time for exploring the city.

The beginning of May is also a great moment to stop by Sevilla. The chances you spot a cloud in the sky are low as the sun shines for over 9 hours a day. The days become warmer, with the temperature rising to 25°C (77°F). Also, no precipitations are expected, despite one or two brief, light rains. In such conditions, walking tours, sightseeing, late-night strolls are pleasant and memorable. By the last days of May, the weather deteriorates slightly. The air gets hotter, and the heat might become tiring. So, if you scheduled your trip for May, reserve the first half of the month for your visit.

The heat continues to increase. On average, thermometers show over 30°C (86°F), and the day temperature rarely drops below 26°C (79°F). The only time when you can feel freshness is during the night and early in the morning before the sun warms up the air. The sky is clear almost always, ensuring more than 12 hours of sunshine over Seville. The weather is arid, and rains are scarce and unlikely. Even if you feel comfortable in hot, dry climates, during the day, you’d better minimize the time you spend under the sun. Don’t overlook putting on a hat and using sunscreen.

July keeps the position of one of the hottest months in Seville. During the day, the average temperature is around 36°C (97°F). For the locals, the mid-day is non-existent: the entire city is on siesta. The life is back in the streets after sunset, but even at night, the temperature rarely drops below 20°C (68°F). Only the mornings and late evenings are suitable for spending time outdoors. In July, it never rains, and the amount of precipitation is 0. In such conditions, the humidity drops to 44%. The arid weather makes the heat less perceptible and helps to survive on a hot day.

August is equally scorching and rainless as July. The sun shining for over 12 hours per day warms up the air to a level that feels unbearable. In the middle of the day, the temperature may peak at 40°C (104°F), in worst cases at 45°C (113°F). If you hoped that some freshness would come with the wind, it wouldn’t: the temperature of the wind is over 30°C (86°F). The rain also won’t help as there is no rain in August. Less than 5 mm (0.2 in) of precipitation is scheduled for the month, which usually falls on one so-called rainy day in August. The weather conditions make it hard to explore the city and enjoy sightseeing. In August, Seville is a nocturnal city, and you won’t miss anything if you spend day hours indoors, take a nap, and have some rest.

Summer continues in Seville. In September, especially in the first half of the month, the thermometer still shows over 30°C (86°F). But, compared to the summer months, the decrease in the heat is perceptible. The nights and mornings could be fresh enough for you to put on light yet long-sleeve clothes. By the end of September, you might see the mist several times in the morning. Besides, for a few minutes, it might rain for the first time since spring. But most of the days are sunny, and the sky remains clear. As the heat is no longer devastating, you can spend an entire day walking around and exploring the city.

The beginning of the month is an excellent time to come over to Seville. The temperature keeps on getting lower, and a daily average drops to 25°C (68°F). Evenings bring freshness, not chilly but comfy. For such moments, you’d better have a light sweatshirt. Also, an umbrella in your bag won’t be excessive. In October, abrupt yet short downpours may catch you in the street. The rain episodes are not often, but towards the end of the month, the chances for them increase. Aside from occasional rains, the other sign of autumn coming is the decrease in the number of sunshine hours: it drops to 6-7 per day.

In November, the weather conditions deteriorate a bit more. The rains still are not that frequent, but you may expect rain to fall 6-7 days a month. It never comes as tiring, torrential rain, but as a series of distinct, rapid, and heavy showers. So, for November, an umbrella or a raincoat is a must-have item in your outfit. The day temperature decreases, and the thermometer is likely to show digits around 15-17°C (59-63°F). The nights are chilly, and you’d feel their freshness in the morning. Even though November has more attributes of the real autumn than previous months, it’s still warm and dry enough for sightseeing.

Along with March, December is another wettest month in the year. The amount of precipitation reaches about 80 mm (32 in). It rains but in quickly-passing showers, and the sky gets clear immediately after the rain stops. In the mornings, you’d notice that the weather got moister as the thick mist covers Seville until noon. By mid-day, the temperature rises and creates comfortable conditions for walks. Combined with the sunshine, it makes city tours light and enjoyable. However, the summer is over, and you should be dressed accordingly. In Seville, the temperature usually doesn’t fall lower than 6°C (43°F), but it’s fresh enough to put on a jacket.
