The best way to discover the Sahara is to sleep under the sky among the sand dunes. From Douz city you can easily start your way to one of the most exciting experiences in your life.
After an atmospheric camel ride, you have a chance to choose between a Bedouin-style dwelling or a simple tent. In the morning, you will wake up to freshly baked khubz milla, a bread baked under hot coals and sand. And don't forget that the sunsets in the desert are the most spectacular!
The best time for this is between October and April when the temperature is the most comfortable. Mind that nights in Decemper and January are pretty cold, so pack some layers.
