Macadamia nuts fall into smooth-shelled and rough-shelled ones. Regardless of the husk, the edible part is a sweet white buttery kernel. Macadamia nuts are not only delicious but also distinguished by a great nutritional value as they contain lots of vitamins and minerals. The nuts grow on macadamia trees native to the Eastern Australia's rainforests and hence the fruit is also known as Australia nut. Besides, it is called Queensland nut or simply a bush nut, whereas its scientific name is Macadamia integrifolia.
