Phuket Pride Week was founded in 1999 and is a grand highlight of Thailand. The organizer is Phuket Loves You Club which is widely supported by local government and business.
Most of the festival activities take place on Patong beach with many stunning activities: beach-volleyball tournaments, athletic competitions, beauty contests, day cruise trips, street parties, beach parties, charity auctions, live concerts, cabaret shows and many beautiful fireworks. The most prominent event of the festival is the significant Gay Grand Pride. It's a stunning procession with many colourful, amazing costumes decorated with feathers, glitter and sequins! The ending of the festival is accompanied by a closing party with international DJs and exciting shows.
The Phuket Gay Pride Festival is organized to promote love, freedom, and solidarity and to support the LGBT community. Proceeds from the event are donated to LGBT and HIV charities.
