Madrid Pride Week 2023
The largest LGBT Pride Festival and LGTB Pride Parade in Europe
Dates: late June–early July 2023 (unconfirmed)
Madrid Pride or Orgullo Gay Madrid is one of the largest annual LGBTQ+ festivals in Europe, attended by thousands of people worldwide. It is held from June to early July in the cosmopolitan Chueca neighborhood of the city. The main event for Madrid's LGBT community includes various cultural and entertainment events: live music concerts and performances in different parts of the city.
One of the main highlights of Madrid Pride is the High Heel Race. A traditional race that requires participants to wear high heels takes place at Pelayo Street in the Chueca district. More exciting events take place at the Plaza de Colón, the Plaza of Spain, the Puerta de Alcalá, and the Puerta del Sol, where the final of the Mr Gay Pride España will take place.
You can't miss the annual Madrid Pride Parade, which usually takes place on Saturday during Pride Week. Around two million people from around the world march through the main streets of the city, from Atocha to Plaza de Colón. The large procession promoting LGBTQ+ rights, equality, and activism features traditional floats, drag queens, vibrant music, and dance groups.
