The best time to visit Puerto Rico is the cooler season, from December through April. The weather is more dry, and temperatures get milder. It’s a great time for surfing, snorkeling, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. In addition, visitors can witness Puerto Rico’s most vibrant celebrations: Festival de las Máscaras de Hatillo in December, San Sebastian Street Festival and Festival de la Novilla in January and Ponce Carnival in February. Shoulder season from April to June is also a good time to travel. Prices go down, and there are fewer crowds. The beginning of summer marks the arrival of heat and heavy rains in Puerto Rico, as well as the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, which lasts until November.
