Held during the last week of December, the annual Shipshewana Ice Festival turns the Morton Street in the city of Shipshewana into a true winter wonderland. Visitors from all around the states head to the northern Indiana town to see the ice turn into exceptional artworks.
Throughout the festival, professional carvers make ice sculptures all around the town. Each statue is evaluated as part of the ice carving contest.
At the same time, chefs polish up their skills at the annual chili cook-off. Visitors are welcomed to enter the best chili recipe and compete for cash prizes, trophies, and the supreme bragging rights for Shipshewana's best chili.
