Newport Winter Festival 2025 in Rhode Island

For over 30 years, Newport Winter Festival has been one of New England's most popular winter events. The festival, which runs for ten days in February, features various fun activities, music, and delicious food. Overall, Newport Winter Festival hosts over 150 events for all ages. Festival highlights include the Annual Chili Cook-Off, the Annual Mac & Cheese SmackDown, a Comedy Show, and lots of live music.

Festival Events

The jam-packed schedule features everything one's heart desires–from mesmerizing live music performances to drink competitions and fire & ice mad science shows. Some of the much-anticipated and regular parts of the program include Beer Dinner at the Mooring, Best Hot Drink Contest, Annual Chili Cook-Off, Mac & Cheese Smackdown, and ice carving demonstrations.

Beach Polo has been a signature event of the Newport Winter Festival for many years. Presented by the Newport International Polo Series. the match is usually held at Second Beach, Middletown, with spectacular views of Aquidneck Island. The event is extremely weather-dependent and might be cancelled because of high winds of low temperatures.

Newport Winter Festival also boasts a variety of family-friendly entertainment. In particular, the little ones can see The Rainforest Reptile Show, Mad Science Show, and Teddy Bear Tea, as well as jugglers, magicians, and comedians.

Chili Cook-Off (February 15, 2025)

The Chili Cook-Off is held at Newport Marriott. Attendees are encouraged to come hungry and have fun while choosing their favorite chili. The participants prepare their best dishes with the family recipes they've honed and perfected for years. The event spans from 11 am until 3:30 pm.

Music Lineup

The musical lineup includes country, rock, and many tribute bands. Kds' entertainment features interactive shows, encouraging kids to participate, sing, and dance along.

Location & Schedule

Most of the events take place at Newport Marriott, a waterfront hotel that offers stunning ocean views and great accommodations. The festival times vary, with some attractions taking place as early as 11 am, while others spin late into the night, starting at 9 pm.
