For over 30 years, Newport Winter Festival has been one of New England's most popular winter events. The festival, which runs for ten days in February, features various fun activities, music, and delicious food. Overall, Newport Winter Festival hosts over 150 events for all ages. Festival highlights include the Annual Samuel Adams Chili Cook-Off, the Annual Mac & Cheese Smack Down, a Comedy Show, and lots of live music.
Chili Cook-Off is held at Gurney's Newport Resort, One Goat Island. Attendees are encouraged to bring their appetite and have fun while choosing their favorite chili. Free Trolley will bring guests to the Chili Cook-Off, with stops at The Newport Gateway Center and The Newport Harbor Hotel.
Beach Polo has been a signature event of the Newport Winter Festival for many years. Presented by the Newport International Polo Series. the match is held at Second Beach, Middletown, with spectacular views of Aquidneck Island.
The musical lineup includes country, rock, and many tribute bands. Kds' entertainment features interactive shows, encouraging kids to participate, sing and dance along. In particular, the little ones can see The Rainforest Reptile Show, Mad Science Show, and Teddy Bear Tea, as well as jugglers, magicians, and comedians.
