The Montréal Snow Festival or Fête des Neiges is a fabulous winter celebration where families play outdoors and enjoy plenty of activities like ice-sculpting contests, dogsled races, snow games and performances by costumed characters such as the mascot polar bear, Boule de Neige. Montréal’s Snow Festival is held over four weekends from mid-January to mid-February in the magical setting of Parc Jean-Drapeau, which is spread over two islands. This is a great place for sledging, ice-skating, ziplining, curling, and skiing, making it a real winter wonderland for all ages.
The entrance to the festival and most of the entertainment is free for kids and adults. You will only need to pay for renting skis, sleds, skates and other equipment. There is also food and drinks available to warm yourself up.
