Le Grand Marché de Noël de Montreal (Montreal Christmas Market) completely transforms Place des Arts into a winter wonderland. With the soft snowflakes landing on your palm and cozy log cabins offering mulled wine and hot cocoa, there is no better place to be than in the heart of Quartier Latin, in downtown Montreal. The Christmas market and village offers many free outdoor activities. There is karaoke, carol sing-alongs, and cooking classes. The market boasts many illuminated Christmas Trees, giant animal installations, play areas, tasty treats, and all kinds of fun for all ages.

Montreal’s Grand Marché de Noël also offers excellent gift shopping and stunning illumination of historic downtown streets. Seventy stalls are selling decorations, artisan, and local products at this traditional holiday market. Search for fabulous finds, taste delicious foods, and try fun activities for the whole family. The market runs to late December on the Place des Arts Esplanade, in the Quartier des Spectacles.

Another Christmas market worth visiting is Merry Montréal in Old Montréal’s Place Jacques-Cartier. An atmospheric place has outdoor fire pits, warm wine, live music, and free activities for children. Dozens of stalls offer candles, crafts, gifts, and accessories. The market also hosts the biggest New Year’s Eve party in the neighborhood.
