Christmas season in Washington, D.C. wouldn't be complete without a visit to a holiday market next to the National Portrait Gallery. The market takes over two entire blocks of F Street NW between 7th to 9th Streets NW. With over 70 vendors selling various crafts and handmade art on the festive days from the end of November till Christmas, this fair is a good place for holiday shopping.
Dozens of artists from the Washington D.C. area put their works, which include collages, illustrations paintings, and photography on display. There are also ceramics, pottery, jewelry, glass, woodworking, apparel, and wonderful textiles. Every item on display could be a perfect gift for your friends and family.
Holiday Market features exhibits, movies, festive food, and great performers that play in various genres—from rock to salsa. Stop by the Christmas Market to hear oldies, classic rock and pop favorites by bands like 49 Cent Dress, All New Genetically Altered Jug Band, Alpha Dog Acoustic Blues, and more. Listen to ethnic tunes by bands like Afro Nuevo that plays Latin Jazz, cha-cha, guajira, and son. The 2020 music will be played live on the Market Screen and then posted on the YouTube channel.
Don't forget to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and try delicious Christmas foods, like delicious hot mini donuts that come right out of the oven. Also, there are German sausages, pretzels, hot mulled cider, and seasonal favorites like stollen and German gingerbreads.
