Water Lantern Festival, voted the Best Cultural Festival in North America by the USA Today readers in 2019, is held in over 100 cities across the United States and Canada. In Indianapolis, it's held at Military Park near White River State Park. Water Lantern Festival is all about peace, helping, connections, and the magical experience of the lantern launch on the water. Besides that, the festival includes food, live music, and entertainment.
Before lanterns are released into the Canal, festival participants will fave a chance to enjoy delicious snacks from food trucks and music. Festival gates are open from 5:30 pm. At 8:30, people can start working on designing their lanterns and filling them with their personal messages. Finally, the impressive launch ceremony will be held from 9 to 10 pm. The sight of thousands of people "lighting the water" will surely stay in your memories for a long time.
