Cactus Ice Cream in Mexico 2025
Locals call it tuna ice-cream, which often confuses customers, yet tuna is a cactus flower and smells like a cucumber rather than fish
Best time: June–August
Fish flavour doesn't seem right for a dessert, so whoever doesn't know the Mexican word tuna might say no to tuna ice-cream and make quite a mistake. Cactus flower has a refreshing cucumber-like taste, which makes for quite an unusual ice-cream flavour, yet not as weird as it could be. This cool dessert is popular in Mexico during the summertime.
