The beaches of Sicily can often be found in the top European and world lists with their crystal clear waters and golden sands. One of such famous beaches is the Rabbit Beach on the little island Lampedusa (south of Sicily). It is relatively easy to reach it from Sicily and is praised for its calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Officially the beach season starts in June, and that is when the majority of tourists start to arrive. However, it gets warm enough to go to Sicily as early as May. So if you fancy a cooling swim and fewer people, this may be your best choice. September in Sicily is a natural continuation of summer, and the temperature does not cool too much then. Generally, it depends on the year, but the summer warmth can last even until early November!
