Wild boar meat is one of prime ingredients known in traditional Tuscan cuisine. The most famous dish is pappardelle cinghiale, pasta with wild boar meat. The lean game makes for a delicious sauce. Pappardelle cinghiale is advised to be ordered with wine. Wild boars hunting season spreads from September till late January. At the same time farmers gradually start raising boars as domestic animals.
