The pastures of the Scottish Highlands are ideal for breeding the best sheep in Britain. Local breeders take great pride in their product as they are well aware that sweet lean lamb from the Scottish Blackface has no equal in UK and perhaps even the world. They do their best to keep the bar high and take good care of their sheep feeding them with homegrown food. Though delicious lamb is available throughout the year, the peak season falls in the months between July and January and the best time to taste high-quality meat is autumn.
