Qatayef is the name of a delicious cake filled with unsalted cheese, raisins, and a mixture of walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, and almonds and is flavoured with vanilla, powdered sugar, and cinnamon. It is distinguished by the creamy texture, and simultaneously the crunch of nuts. An important thing to remember​ is the honey syrup topping; otherwise,​ the dessert is incomplete. In Arabic countries Qatayef is widely consumed during the period of Ramadan.
