Since 1988, the annual Thoroughbred Races sees horses from all across the USA competing in Oklahoma. Live races, Public Spectators, Breeders Cup, Oklahoma Derby, and other exciting activities attract locals and guests from nearby states.

Oklahoma Horse Racing Schedule 2024

The Thoroughbred Racing Season takes place from August 16 to December 13, from Wednesday to Saturday. However, there are special race dates, such as the Oklahoma Derby, which is held on Sunday, September 29 (first race at 3 pm); races on Monday and Tuesday, November 18-19 (first race at 2:30 pm); races on Monday and Tuesday, November 25-26 (first race at 2:30 pm); and the Springboard Mile on Friday, December 13 (first race at 5 pm). There will be no live racing on Thanksgiving, November 29.

Dates

The thoroughbred racing season usually begins in August and lasts through December. During this long season, live races are held almost every day. The schedule of the races changes each year, so it's recommended to check in advance.

Location and Parking

The event is held in Remington Park, with various restaurants and bars to choose from. Also, over 750 casino gaming machines are available 24/7. Parking and admission are free of charge.
