The Dubai World Cup Racing Carnival takes place over 11 days across three months at the legendary Meydan Racecourse, featuring some of the most prestigious international races in the world. The event attracts high-profile owners, horses, and jockeys. Known for their passion for horses, wealthy Arabians make the carnival one of the UAE’s largest social events.
2024-2025 Season Events
The Dubai World Cup Racing Carnival kicks off on November 8, launching an exciting season of horse racing, live entertainment, and luxurious dining at one of the country’s most prestigious events. Throughout the carnival, international trainers, jockeys, and horses compete for a share of the $30.5 million in prize money, culminating in the Dubai World Cup on April 5. Key race nights leading up to the grand finale include Festive Friday (December 20), Fashion Friday (January 24), and Emirates Super Saturday (March 1). With 16 meetings and 7 to 9 races each day, the season promises a thrilling spectacle. Gates open at 4 pm each day, and the festivities continue with concerts by major pop stars and a stunning fireworks display.

Dubai Racing Club offers a range of hospitality packages, such as the Parade Ring Lounge, which offers views of the horses and a buffet brunch starting from AED 315 for soft drinks or AED 415 for house drinks. Other exclusive packages include the Paddock View restaurant and the Winner’s Circle restaurant, with prices starting from AED 125 for children and up to AED 615 for adults, depending on the package chosen.
History
The Dubai World Cup was established in 1996 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. He is also the owner of Darley Stud & Godolphin Racing, which is one of the world’s leading Thoroughbred breeding and racing operations. Since 2019, the race has boasted a purse of $12 million, reclaiming its status as the richest horse race in the world.
