Visakha Bucha Day 2023 in Thailand

Although the holiday is a religious one and most loud bars and alcohol shops get closed, it is a remarkable peaceful time. Buddhists all over the Kingdom make offerings and participate in family gatherings. There is also a beautiful ceremony performed by the monks. Each year they light thousands of lamps and candles around the temples, making it a truly warm scene. The holiday is set according to the lunar calendar, therefore there are no set dates, but it most often falls in May or June.
