Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade 2025
Plenty of festivities as the city goes green
Dates: March 15, 2025
St. Patrick's Day brings a lot of fun to Colorado Springs. The holiday has been celebrated in the city since 1985. The celebration includes a festive parade, a 5K run, Irish beer tastings, pub crawls, folk music, and live performances. Colorado Springs offers many ways to celebrate Ireland's national holiday!
Parade Highlights
The annual Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade is the biggest in Southern Colorado. The highlight of the spring season features many marching bands, colorful floats, flags, and leprechauns. Near 35,000 people attend the parade yearly.
Route
The parade route starts at the corner of Tejon Street and East St. Vrain and heads south along Tejon Street, concluding at Vermijo. For prime viewing, the St. Pat's Reviewing Stands offer the best seats, though the entire stretch of Tejon Street provides excellent vantage points for spectators. Just be sure to stay behind the chalk line, especially if you have little ones in tow.
Tickets for the Reviewing Stands are $50 per couple and include an Irish flag to wave, a Parade Program to follow along with the entries, and festive Irish "baubles." From this optimal spot on the west side of Pikes Peak Avenue, you'll also enjoy hearing the parade announcer introduce each entry as it passes by. You can also watch the parade from the pop-up bar, The Paddy O'Pub, located on Bijou and Tejon.
Schedule
The parade is traditionally held on a Saturday. If St. Patrick's Day doesn't fall on a Saturday, the parade takes place the Saturday before. In 2025, it is scheduled for March 15, with the festivities kicking off promptly at noon. The parade typically lasts about 1-1/2 hours.
Food
Food and drink are available at various spots along the parade route, including local restaurants, pubs, and street food booths. These booths will offer a variety of options, such as soft drinks, hot dogs, burgers, tamales, and other refreshments. Downtown Colorado Springs also boasts many restaurants for those seeking additional dining choices. However, it's important to note that alcohol is strictly prohibited outside along the parade route.
Special Events
This cherished Colorado Springs tradition, with over 40 years of history, features a variety of events alongside the parade. Highlights include the annual St. Patrick's Day 5K, the Leprechaun Fun Run, the Corporate Cup Challenge, and a children's scavenger hunt known as Locate the Leprechaun. Most activities are scheduled for March 15, with Locate the Leprechaun taking place on March 8 and the St. Paddy's Sports Expo on March 14. Be sure to don your favorite green attire and take part in the festivities!
