London's St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of the most celebrated and draws over 100,000 visitors every year on the Sunday closest to the 17th of March. The public gathers around Green Park at noon to follow the spectacular​ walk towards Trafalgar Square. Thousands watch the elaborate Irish float groups representing the 32 counties of Ireland and enjoy traditional dance, food, and music. The parade attracts marching bands and dancing troupes from all over the U.K. Cheerful crowds pass Piccadilly Circus, Whitehall, and the Ritz greeted by spectators in leprechaun hats, green wigs, and Irish costumes. So put on your best green outfit and join the party!

The Parade is followed by the St Patrick's Day Festival held at Trafalgar Square until 6 p.m. It features numerous Irish bands: both big names and emerging artists. Musical acts are followed by comedy and theatrical performances. There are also arts and crafts fair, food vendors, and special displays like a traditional Irish cottage. Sports, games and various activities are aimed to entertain people of different ages. Kids' corner offers family-friendly fun activities for the littlest ones.
