Cycling in Switzerland 2024
With its great lakes and wide meadows Switzerland is a paradise for cyclists
Best time: March–November
Every corner of Switzerland is made for great biking. If you're in Zurich, try cycling from Seebach station through the woods to Katzensee lake where you can take a relaxing swim. If you happen to be in Geneva, try exploring the Lake Geneva vineyards. In the Rhône Valley, start from Martigny station and cross the river to get to the villages of Fully, Chataigner, and Saillon. Take a scenic trip to Ticino—a pleasant Italian-speaking region. If you want to see medieval castles, try the road from the Alpine valleys through Bellinzona. If you prefer mountain biking, Switzerland has a lot to offer as well. There are plenty of trails around the Matterhorn with various levels of difficulty.
