Balloons Over Russellville is an annual ballooning festival held in Russellville over the first weekend of May. Russellville is the largest city in Pope County and home to Arkansas Tech University. The festival hosts 15-20 Hot Air Balloons, launched in the sky over Russellville, an area bordering Lake Dardanelle and the Arkansas River.
Balloons Over Russellville features a Balloon Glow event as well as helicopter rides and Powered Parachute rides, available for an additional charge. In addition to morning balloon launches and various fun activities, the festival ground at Russellville Soccer Complex hosts vendors, food, and fun for the kids. Kids' Zone and entertainment include bouncy houses, face painting, games, and sports competitions. Admission to the festival is free. Balloon flights are weather dependent. The festival runs from Friday to Sunday, 4pm to 9 pm, 7 am to 9 pm, and from 7 am to 7 pm respectively.
