The sunny city of Millbrae, located 14 miles (22 km) from San Francisco and bordering San Francisco International Airport, is home to one of the most vibrant Labor Day weekend festivals, the Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. While bidding farewell to summer, visitors will experience a unique arts & crafts market, an electrifying lineup of live music and never-ending selection of wine, beers, and spirits. Car enthusiasts flock to the Classically Cool Car Show, while children enjoy the games at the Kids' Zone.
Festival Entertainment
The main highlight of the Millbrae Art & Wine Festival is the vendors market, mainly the arts & crafts fair, featuring more than 300 vendors. From souvenirs to hand-made decor pieces, there's something for everyone in the displays. The food court offers mouth-watering dishes, gourmet bits, refreshing ice cream, and other delicious picks. Alcohol selection is also impressive, with many varieties of wine, beer, ciders, and cocktails to choose from.
If you wander further along Broadway, you'll encounter an annual Classically Cool Car Show, showcasing dozens of vintage and old-school vehicles of the past. If you're attending with your family, youngsters might enjoy exciting games and activities set up in the children's area. The cherry on top is the music lineup, which features several Bay Area bands and artists, including Fog City Swampers, Marshall Law Band, and Dee Coco & Mixx Co.
Schedule & Admission
The event takes place annually on Saturday and Sunday of the Labor Day Weekend and usually spans from 10 am until 5 pm on both days of the festival. Admission to the event is completely free, but vendor goods, food, and drinks are subject to a fee, so consider stocking up on cash prior to the event.
Location
Downtown Millbrae is filled to the brim with residents and guests of the city, with Broadway being the center of all the festivities. The majority of events takes place along Broadway in the area between 200 Victoria Avenue and Meadow Glen Avenue. Children's area is located on 900 Broadway, while the Classically Cool Car Show unfolds in the parking lot at 200 Broadway. The city is also situated not far from San Francisco, making the event very accessible to San Franciscans and other residents of the Bay Area.
