The Ballarat International Foto Biennale runs every other year in Ballarat, Victoria and presents more than 100 exhibitions from local and international photo artists. The exhibition lasts usually from mid-August to mid-September.
For the first time the Photo Biennale started in 2005, and only in 2017 did it make its debut as a public exhibition. The purpose of such an initiative is to bring photography to people. Photos are be displayed on the streets of Ballarat.
In addition, the main program of the Biennale takes place in the magnificent Art Gallery of Ballarat, the Mining Exchange, the Minerva Room, the Ballarat Observatory, Post Office Gallery, and the Town Hall. Many glittering exhibitions and presentations await visitors, and they are all within walking distance.
As Ballarat is a small town, you will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the local world through photos, as well as see what the world sees.
