Art Toronto takes place every October at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. The fair is one of the premier art events in the country providing access to the Canadian art market and presenting works of the leading Canadian and international galleries. Art Toronto also features PLATFORM, lectures, and panel discussions from the most distinguished curators, artists, and other prominent figures of the world of art. Organizers work hard to run an extensive VIP Programme and to host top-tier cultural events throughout the city.
Art Toronto took place for the first time in 2000. Its goal is to promote Toronto as the cultural capital of Canada and showcase the city's cosmopolitan and creative art community. Theatre, visual arts, and more than 125 art galleries and museums—Toronto has become one of the major cultural hubs in North America.
