Festival International de Dougga (Dougga Fest) Featured in
In 1997, UNESCO qualified Dougga city as a World Heritage Site. This city is the best-preserved Roman small town in North Africa. Every year, one of the most beautiful festivals happens on the territory of archaeological digs. The ancient theatre, which accommodates more than 3,500 people, hosts a truly colourful and unforgettable event. People dance, sing and watch classic theatre performances on the real stage from Roman times.
You are welcome not only observe the cultural life of Tunisia but also walk around the stone streets of the city. The views here are incredible: old places like the capitol or Temple of Saturn on the mountain with an overlook of wheat fields.
The festival is held every summer.
