For several days in September, art lovers from all over the world gather in the city for Berlin Art Week. The programme features a range of events. Two major art fairs are the "ABC Art Berlin Contemporary" and "Positions Berlin." A number of Berlin-based contemporary art institutions takes advantage of the opportunity to cooperate with different artists and galleries for a range of events, this way promoting Berlin as a perfect place for making, celebrating, and discussing art.
The Art Week is a platform for new acquaintances and partnerships between collectors, media representatives, gallerists, international guests and for artists. The best networking opportunities are at opening receptions, performances, talks, and art installations.
All events and exhibitions will be scattered over different venues across Berlin. Some of the most prominent locations to host the festival include Tempelhof Airport, Akademie der Künste, Postbahnhof at Ostbahnhof, ESMT European School of Management and Technology, Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle, C/O Berlin, Haus am Waldsee, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Nationalgalerie, Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (nGbK), Schering Stiftung, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.), and Schinkel Pavillon.
The Berlin Art Week is the climax of the entire Berlin Art Year, surely not to be missed if you are interested in the latest trends.
