Late spring is undoubtedly one of the best times to visit the city. It is also a so-called Spargelzeit for Germans, which means asparagus season. The entire country goes mad for this plant, the white variety in particular! It is no exaggeration to say it appears on every menu, and Spargel or asparagus stands pop up on street corners—a very German thing. You can eat them cooked in different ways: grilled, as well as in salads and soups.
