The Gilroy Garlic Festival is one of the most popular summer food festivals in San Jose area featuring great food, drinks, arts and crafts, live concerts, and cooking competitions. Since 1979, the festival has raised millions of dollars for the local community: schools, charities, and NGOs. The Gilroy Garlic Festival is held at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, about 30 miles (50 km) from San Jose and 80 miles (130 km) from San Francisco. One-day admission tickets cost $20.
