Typically New Orleans' the po-boy sandwich, was once a sandwich for poor boys during the Great Depression. Now it's the favourite snack of New Orleanians. The Oak Street Po-Boy Festival is honouring the humble po-boy while helping to revitalize the Oak street business corridor. Come and try it yourself!
Some of the city's finest restaurants participate in the event providing a chance to try over 50 varieties of the beloved sandwich. There will also be plenty of live music performed by local bands. The event not only celebrates delicious food, it's dedicated to a historical Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans and its vibrant culture.
