Every Friday from around mid-March to October, the Open Kitchen ('Odprta kuhna' in Slovenian) invites you to meet Slovenian chefs, taste different Slovenian and foreign foods, and learn more about the cooking process.

The choice of offered food is wide and varied. Sometimes it's difficult to decide so you might need to stroll around for a while before you find the perfect dish. Once you grab your plate, find a place either on the specially set benches or simply take a seat wherever you see.

The food market exhibits around 30 food providers—modern restaurants, traditional Slovenian gostilnas, tourist farms, and even independent chefs who want to promote their culinary achievements. There is usually some music and entertainment to cheer up the visitors.

The market might be cancelled due to bad weather. Otherwise, it's open until dusk. Location? It's easy to spot—Pogačarjev trg, between the Ljubljanica River and Ljubljana Cathedral.
