Falls Creek

It serves as the official training base for the Australian national cross-country team.

With a well-developed infrastructure, Falls Creek proudly hosts the Kangaroo Hoppet, the Southern Hemisphere's largest snow-sport event. This annual race, held on the fourth Saturday of August, attracts over 1,000 cross-country skiers of various nationalities, ages, and abilities to the scenic trails of the Alpine National Park. Mt. Baw Baw

Mt. Baw Baw may be a relatively small ski resort, but it is the closest to Melbourne, just a two-and-a-half-hour drive away. The resort features 15 runs suitable for skiers of all levels. Visitors can enjoy toboggan parks, participate in a variety of skiing and snowboarding lessons, or embark on a backcountry dog-sled tour. If downhill skiing or snowboarding is not for you, give a try to snowshoeing. Mt Baw Baw's setting amongst the Snow Gum trees makes it the perfect place for a winter hike.
