Orlando Memorial Day Weekend Events and Fireworks 2024
Time for family and friendly gatherings under the colors of the USA flag
Dates: May 24–27, 2024
During Memorial Day Weekend, the streets of Orlando are filled with American flags and smiles on the faces of people who, with gratitude in their hearts, honor the fallen soldiers. It is a day to reflect on the selfless dedication and courage of those who gave their lives in defense of our nation and its freedoms. It is also a time for families and friends to gather and honor the memory of their loved ones who have served in the armed forces. It's also the opening time of the summer season and, therefore, for entertaining outdoor events, parties, and festivals.
Visiting Orlando during Memorial Day Weekend offers a variety of events, each of which, in its own way, helps Americans feel the unity and celebration of this day. Memorial Day Weekend at ICON Park, Memorial Day Flag Ceremony, or Memorial Day Salute at Cypress Grove Park provides a variety of activities and ways to spend the last Sunday of spring.
Memorial Day Flag Ceremony (May 25, 2024)
The ceremony is held at the Founders Park and is dedicated to all soldiers who gave their lives in defense of peace. Last year, the event started at 10 am. The ceremony was attended by veterans who, in private conversations, could talk about service in the US Army and share their military experience in more detail. Guests should bring their own seating or blankets to enjoy the event comfortably.
Memorial Day Salute at Cypress Grove Park (May 25 2024)
Cypress Grove Park's annual Memorial Day Salute, honoring Colonel Joe W. Kittinger, Jr., and all Veterans. This is a free event presented by Friends of Cypress Grove Park. Residents can bring chairs or blankets for their comfort. A festive picnic with family or friends will be a lovely idea. In 2024, the program will start at 9:45 am with Meaning and Folding of the American Flag, Veterans Pinning Ceremony, community band performance, and patriotic speeches of speakers. This active day at Cypress Grove Park ends with a colorful fireworks display that creates a magical atmosphere for everyone.
