Famous for its stable weather conditions, Algarve beaches are among the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. You may choose a few for a nice beach vacation, or explore the entire coastline dotted with caves and various stunning rock formations on a cruise tour.

The region receives more than 7 million foreign tourists per year because of its natural attractions. Beaches are considered to be some of the cleanest in the region and are covered with a soft golden sand.

The climate and atmosphere are Mediterranean, with the Atlantic waves here. Watersports are available alongside family-oriented paddling zones.

The best beaches in the central Algarve are Praia de Albandeira, Praia do Anção, Praia da Marinha and Praia do Alvor. The western Algarve hosts a few more nice beaches such as Praia do Amoreira, Praia do Camilo, Praia de Odeceixe, Praia do Martinhal and Praia do Armado. In eastern part the most famous location is Praia do Barril.
