As the name suggests, the iconic rock music festival originated in the Brazilian party capital of Rio. Soon it branched into several more locations, one of which was the capital city of Portugal. That's how Rock in Rio Lisboa was founded in 2004. Although it's been a lot of time since the 1985 inaugural party in Rio de Janeiro, it's still a pretty big deal. Since then the Portuguese edition has grown into a phenomenal fiesta that gathers world-known megastars of all genres from rock legends to modern pop stars, as well as tens of thousands of revellers at its stage.
Have a look at the musicians featured in the latest lineups: Muse, The Killers, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Bastille, HAIM, Moullinex, Anitta, Anavitória, Diogo Piçarra, Sara Tavares, and others. The names speak for the scales of the festival.
Rock in Rio Lisboa takes place every two years in the month of June. With an area of 85,000 m², Bela Vista Park becomes the stage for the five-day mind-blowing fiesta.
