History of Fiesta des Suds
Fiesta des Suds kicked off back in 1992 and initially focused on the music genres of Southern Europe and Latin countries. Over the years, Fiesta des Suds changed several locations, turning run-down places into renovated venues. The first two editions of "Festival of the South" were held in the dock buildings in the La Joliette neighborhood, which at the time was a desolate area of fruit import storage. Today, La Joliette is the place to welcome cruise ships and to shop in designer stores.
